Need For Trees

Hi, I’m Daumantas, the founder of Need For Trees ! I’m originally from a small town in Samogitia, Ylakiai (Skuodas district). Ever since I was young, my mother would often say, “Why are you always wandering through the fields?” (even though I was actually playing cards at the stadium with my friends). One day, I thought, why not actually go and wander through the fields? So I did just that – without any plan, I took my dog (RIP) Bari and simply set out through the fields, heading towards the river. As I walked, I felt, “Yes, this activity has something, I like this” and from that moment, I realized that wandering through fields and forests, being with nature, would become part of my life.

Need For Trees came into my life as an activity about three years ago.
While wandering through the fields, I discovered that I enjoy capturing nature and revealing the most significant moments of my wanderings through short films.
Photography and filming are forms of art, and art cannot exist without an audience, so I wanted to share this experience with others.
The only thing left was to name this hobby.
hat’s how Need For Trees was born. Once I realized that trees, which symbolize nature as a whole, are what my leisure time and thoughts revolve around.

I started making hammocks because I wanted to spend more quality time in nature and couldn’t find a form of relaxation that suited me best.
Until I created the perfect one, I couldn’t find a quality hammock.
The hammocks on the market were either too short, or small, and heavy. I wanted to create a hammock that wouldn’t restrict me in any way.
The one, where I wouldn’t feel squished like a chebureki, where there would be plenty of space, and I could stretch out like my dog Rikis does on the bed after coming home from overnighter in the forest.
That’s how I created Need For Trees hammocks (and other products), which embrace all my knowledge and experience.

Enjoy.
