20D SIL/SIL Silpoly Fabric
Shako is made from 20D SIL/SIL silpoly fabric.

Unlike silnylon, silpoly maintains tension during prolonged rain. This reduces sagging and keeps coverage consistent throughout the night.

Seam Construction
Shako is not seam-sealed.
When properly pitched with a straight ridgeline and without direct contact between tarp ridgeline and hammock ridgeline, water does not penetrate through the ridgeline seam. This configuration has been field tested repeatedly in sustained rain.
Due to the double-silicone construction of silpoly, seam sealing requires manual application of silicone-based sealant. Seam tape cannot be applied to this fabric.
For users who prefer sealed seams, silicone sealing can be applied manually.

Is Shako large enough for a 12 ft hammock?
Yes. The 360 cm ridgeline is sized to properly cover long 12 ft (360 cm) gathered-end hammocks.
Does silpoly stretch in rain?
No. Unlike silnylon, silpoly does not absorb water and does not significantly stretch when wet.
Is seam sealing required?
In correct pitch configuration with a straight ridgeline, sealing is not required for normal rain conditions. Users who prefer sealed seams can apply silicone sealant manually.
Is this tarp suitable for winter use?
Yes. When pitched low and at steeper angles, Shako provides reliable wind and snow protection.
Can I customize the tarp?

I love the tarp. Many people say to chosse two of the following : low price, high quality, low weight. You can’t get all three.
But here I think we are pretty close ro the holy trinity of ultralight. Really nice quality without the extremely slippery feeling silicone coated fabrics sometimes have. Easy set-up and nice, even, stitching. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
Size is great, this will do the job at least10 months of the year in Stockholm.
