Lightweight by Design
Cain is a 12 ft (360 cm) camping hammock with a permanently integrated bug net.
Because the mosquito net is sewn directly into the hammock body, there are no extra attachment zippers or modular hardware. As a result, overall weight is reduced and the system stays simple.
In total, this construction saves approximately 110 g compared to removable-net designs.
Fewer components. Lower weight. Faster setup.
Cain is built for users who know they will always use a bug net and prefer a streamlined, dependable solution.
360 cm (12 ft) Length for Real Sleep
Length determines comfort.
At 360 cm (approx. 12 ft), Cain provides enough space for a naturally flatter diagonal lay, reducing shoulder pressure and calf ridge compared to shorter hammocks.
The result:
- More relaxed body position
- Improved overnight recovery
- Better comfort for taller users
Comfort here is structural — not accidental.
Integrated Bug Net — Permanently Built In
The No-See-Um mosquito net is permanently integrated into the hammock body.
This means:
- Fewer structural components
- Reduced overall weight
- No detachable parts to manage
- Always-ready insect protection
Setup remains identical to any gathered-end hammock.
Hang it. Zip it. Rest.
40D Hex Ripstop — Strength Without Excess
Cain uses high-strength 40D Hex Ripstop nylon selected for durability without unnecessary bulk.
The fabric provides:
- Reliable tear resistance
- Soft feel against skin
- Strong abrasion tolerance
- Resistance to everyday wear, including dog nails
- Free from harmful fluorocarbon treatments
Light enough for long-distance carry. Durable enough for repeated use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 360 cm (approx. 12 ft) long enough for my height?
For most users up to around 195 cm, this 12 ft camping hammock provides a comfortable diagonal lay with reduced shoulder pressure and calf ridge.
However, if you are taller or simply prefer additional space, longer custom versions can be produced on request.
Is Cain suitable for winter use?
Yes. The hammock itself can be used year-round.
In practice, seasonal comfort depends on your insulation system — such as an underquilt or properly rated sleeping pad — not the hammock body.
Can the integrated bug net be fully opened?
Yes. The full-length (~3 m) zipper allows the mosquito net to be completely opened and swept to one side when insects are not present.
As a result, the hammock can be used fully open in bug-free conditions without removing any components.
Is Cain a good hammock for bikepacking?
Cain is well suited for bikepacking and backpacking setups where weight and packed volume matter.
The integrated construction keeps the system lightweight and streamlined without sacrificing comfort.
Can I use a sleeping pad inside?
Yes. A sleeping pad can be used for insulation. As with most single-layer hammocks, the pad may shift slightly depending on movement and pad type.
Can you produce custom versions?
Yes. Custom configurations can be discussed upon request. Contact us directly to explore available options.

Čia buvo geriausias metų pirkinys! Miegasi kaip ant debesėlio. Vietos labai daug, medžiaga maloni, pakabinimas aiškus ir paprastas, uodai nevalgo ir dar žvaigždes pernakt stebėt gali. Palapinę jau išmečiau. Labai rekomenduoju! 🌲

Jeigu tureciau iteikti apdovanojima uz metu gamini tai tikrai sito brando hamakam. Need for trees pakeite mano poziuri ir pomegius kas liecia miegojima gamtoj. O po hamaku pakabintas pasiltukas mindblowina kai pirma karta patiri ka reiskia miegoti be kilimelio. Didelis aciu uz istobulinta produkta.

This hammock feels so soft to the touch. It’s amazing. It’s my fourth hammock and by far the best value for money! I also love the fact that it’s made in Europe 👌
Nice work on the basics like stitching and finish (no loose thread ends etc). But also great job on the design and the premium feel about the product as a whole. It’s nice to have an adjustable ridgeline, ridgeline organization and bishop bag as part of the package. No extra add ons and endless accessorie choices. This is a really nice brand and I have, and will continue to recommend it far and wide.
Small detail that might be nice: optional zipper length. Now the zipper covers approximately 2/3 of one side. If it goes all the way, folding back the mosquito net is easier. Or, find a solution to manage the net like a tent door to hold it back… Might be the lighter choice.

Naudoju trumpuose išvykuose motociklu ir savaitgalio kelionėse, puikus daiktais kai reikia lengvo nakvynės sprendimo. O kai kyla klausimų supportas su sprendimu per minučių trukmę parvaro su atsakymais.

If you are deciding which hammock to get for all types of outdoor exploration, between all the options you have this is the one you should pick! As a side sleeper and a-lot-moving sleeper I sleep snug like a baby in the Cain hammock. The main fabric is super sturdy and feels really comfortable. The size of the hammock is perfect for me with 177cm.
Paired with the need for trees whoopie slings it’s light to ultralight. Packsize is considerably smaller than my old onewind hammock. I also ordered the Underquilt and it fits perfectly to the hammock. The hammock has two clips on each side so an underquilt can get attached. Then it does not slip when sleeping and most airdrafts besides really strong ones don’t make it to your butt.
For storage the hammock comes with a small ridgeline organizer for phone, mosquitospray etc. and a big peak shelf. Sometimes I wished for a second peak shelf but then again that’s weight and I am usually an overpacker.
Honestly, you are looking at the best option in europe for a well thought out trekking, bikepacking, everything hammock. It is a price and quality banger. From order to delivery to the first use it was a pleasure to order from Need For trees.
Now please order yours and head to the next forest!

Išties nustebino hamako komfortas – nėra ką lyginti su palapine. Pati hamako kokybė be priekaištų – nei vienos laisvos siūlės, svorį atlaiko be problemų. Ir uodai netrukdo išsimiegoti 🙂

Hammock with Integrated Bug Net – Cain (Kniuisis)
I used the Cain hammock from NeedForTrees for a week in Borgafjäll Sweden and I am extremely satisfied. It is spacious with its 350×150 cm dimensions, stable, and incredibly comfortable thanks to the asymmetric design. Easy to pack, well-made, and durable.
At only 490 grams, it is a perfect choice for an ultralight setup.

Came from another hammock, that claimed to be “XXL”, which – after a few nights and some research – turned out not so XXL at all. I was a hammock-beginner and got caught by marketing. I’m 1,93 m and was after a longer hammock.
I found NFT through recommendations from reddit, looked up the website and was convinced from the start.
The “Cain”-Hammock is my complimentary for the “Gulf”-Tarp. It packs small, is lightweight, easy to set up with the “Infinity-Straps”-Suspension and the kind of product you trust right out of the box with the first hands-on. Even after only a few tests I am very satisfied with the comfort.
NFT-Founder Daumantas even sent me a handwritten note and a goodie as extra for my shipment.
Quality is great, packing and weight are excellent, prices are fair. If you are looking, this is it!
Highly recommended!
