What pole length is needed for internal pole mode (360 cm version)?

For the 360 cm (12 ft) version, poles around 360 cm total length are required to span the ridgeline internally.

Segmented tent poles can be used. Many users purchase standard pole sections and cut them to the desired length.

Exact tension and curvature depend on your pitch height and desired interior volume.

What pole length is needed for the 396 cm (13 ft) version?

We have not standardized pole use for the 396 cm version. Required length depends on pitch geometry and setup height.

Because of the increased span, pole configuration will vary. Users planning pole mode for the 13 ft version should calculate based on their intended pitch.

Do you offer poles?

At the moment, poles are not included or sold separately. Any compatible segmented pole system can be used.

Are additional pull-outs possible?

Yes. Additional pull-outs can be added on request. Contact us before ordering if you need a custom configuration.

Is Shaltis suitable for winter use?

Yes. The integrated full doors provide increased protection against wind and blowing rain. Combined with proper insulation, it is well suited for colder and exposed conditions.

Does silpoly require seam sealing?

Shaltis is not seam-sealed. When pitched with a straight ridgeline and without direct contact between tarp and hammock ridgelines, water ingress is minimized.

If seam sealing is desired, silicone-based sealant must be applied manually. Seam tape is not compatible with silpoly fabrics.

Which length should I choose – 360 cm or 396 cm?

The 360 cm version is optimized for 12 ft hammocks.

The 396 cm version provides additional coverage for longer hammocks or for users who prefer extended overhang and increased weather protection or more space for other gear inside.
